🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted margarine
  • 10 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons pure unsweetened cocoa powder (do not use sweetened hot chocolate mix)

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the sugar, sifted cocoa powder, milk, and margarine in a small saucepan and stir until a smooth paste forms.

  2. 2

Place over low heat and stir constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom.

  3. 3

Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring without stopping, until the glaze thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

  4. 4

Remove from heat immediately and pour over the cake while still hot, spreading evenly with a spatula. Allow to cool fully before slicing.

💡 Chef's Tip

Always use pure unsweetened cocoa for the best deep chocolate flavour. If the glaze thickens too fast, stir in a splash of warm milk. For maximum crunch, let the glaze cool completely before cutting.
