🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk (2 × 14 oz / 395 g)
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the condensed milk, whole milk, and butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

  2. 2

Cook over low heat, stirring continuously with a silicone spatula, scraping the bottom and sides to prevent scorching.

  3. 3

Stir in the vanilla extract and continue cooking until the mixture thickens and starts pulling away from the sides of the pan.

  4. 4

Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then use as a cake filling or frosting as desired.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra richness, swap the butter for double cream. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days — it firms up nicely when chilled.
