🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 1 egg
  • 8 tablespoons whole milk
  • 8 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the sugar and water in a mug. Microwave in 15-second intervals, watching closely each time, until the mixture turns a deep amber caramel. Be careful — it can burn in an instant!

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, crack the egg and whisk until fully smooth. Add the condensed milk and whole milk, then stir everything together until well combined and lump-free.

  3. 3

Gently pour the custard mixture over the caramel in the mug. Microwave for 1 minute. If the center is not yet set, continue cooking in 15-second bursts until the custard is firm.

💡 Chef's Tip

Allow to cool for 2–3 minutes before eating. To unmold onto a plate, run a thin knife around the edges of the mug and flip — the caramel will cascade beautifully over the top.
