🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 397 g)
  • 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream (200 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Directions

  1. 1

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and butter. Place over low heat and stir continuously to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring without stopping, until the mixture thickens slightly and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

Remove from heat and gently pour in the heavy cream in a thin stream, folding it in with a spatula until the filling is completely smooth and uniform.

  4. 4

Allow the filling to cool fully at room temperature before spreading it over your cake layers to ensure the best consistency.

💡 Chef's Tip

Stir in a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract or a pinch of sea salt just after removing from heat for a more rounded flavor. Keeps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
