🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions

  1. 1

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the margarine, condensed milk, and cocoa powder.

  2. 2

Stir continuously for about 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth, glossy, and well blended.

  3. 3

In a separate bowl, whisk the cornstarch into the cold milk until fully dissolved with no lumps remaining.

  4. 4

Gradually pour the milk-cornstarch mixture into the saucepan, stirring constantly to prevent clumping.

  5. 5

Keep stirring over low heat until the coating thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and use immediately to glaze your desserts, or let it cool slightly for a thicker, spreadable consistency.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra shine, stir in a teaspoon of honey just before removing from heat. The coating thickens as it cools — reheat gently over a double boiler if it becomes too thick.
