🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) dark or milk chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1

Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a small saucepan and add the butter cut into small cubes.

  2. 2

Heat over low heat, stirring constantly for about 3 minutes, until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.

  3. 3

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate in two or three additions, mixing until fully melted and the glaze is shiny and lump-free.

  4. 4

Stir in the vanilla extract and let cool for 5 minutes before pouring over your cake or dessert.

💡 Chef's Tip

Use good-quality chocolate (55–70% cocoa) for a deeper flavour. If the glaze sets too firm, warm it gently with a splash of cream to loosen it back up.
