🛒 Ingredients

2 servings

2
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup whole milk (about 200 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, to taste)

Directions

  1. 1

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, stirring gently.

  2. 2

Add the cocoa powder and sugar, then whisk vigorously until you get a smooth paste with no lumps.

  3. 3

Gradually pour in the milk while continuing to stir. Bring to medium heat until the first bubbles appear, stirring constantly.

  4. 4

Remove from heat as soon as the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Let cool slightly before serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

For a thicker consistency, simmer for an extra 2 minutes over low heat. A pinch of salt enhances the depth of the chocolate flavour.
