- 4 cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
- 12 slices of bacon
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 egg, beaten

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Mix the sugar into the bread flour, then add water according to the package instructions. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.

Cook the bacon in a skillet for 5 minutes until crispy. Add the ginger and garlic and cook for 1 minute, then stir in the soy sauce, honey, and tomato paste. Mix well.

Divide the dough into 12 portions, flatten each, and fill with a spoonful of the stuffing. Pinch the edges to close like a pouch. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

The filling can be prepared 3 days in advance. The buns can be frozen after the second rise for up to 1 month, or made the day before and reheated.
