Directions
- 1
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and shredded coconut in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
- 2
Stir constantly with a wooden spoon for about 15 minutes, until the mixture thickens and pulls cleanly away from the sides of the pan.
- 3
Remove from heat and transfer to a lightly buttered plate; let cool completely at room temperature.
- 4
With lightly buttered hands, roll the mixture into small balls of about 15 g each.
- 5
Roll each ball in crystal sugar or extra shredded coconut to coat evenly.
- 6
Place in mini paper cups and press one whole clove into the top of each candy to finish.
💡 Chef's Tip
The dough is ready when it lifts off the bottom of the pan without sticking. For firmer candies, cook 2 minutes longer. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
