🛒 Ingredients

80 servings

80
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 1 packet flavored gelatin powder (any flavor — strawberry, raspberry, mango, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
  • Whole cloves (for decoration)
  • Coarse crystal sugar (for coating)

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the condensed milk, butter, and gelatin powder in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat.

  2. 2

Stir continuously with a spatula until the mixture thickens and pulls cleanly away from the sides and bottom of the pan.

  3. 3

Pour into a lightly buttered dish and let cool at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes, until firm enough to handle.

  4. 4

With lightly buttered hands, roll small portions of the mixture into smooth, even balls.

  5. 5

Roll each ball generously in crystal sugar until completely coated.

  6. 6

Press one whole clove into the top of each candy and allow to cool fully before serving or storing.

💡 Chef's Tip

Bold-flavored gelatins like strawberry, grape, or passion fruit give the most vibrant color and taste. Rolling each ball twice in crystal sugar creates an extra-crunchy shell. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
