🛒 Ingredients

45 servings

45
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (about 14 oz / 395 g)
  • 4 paçoca candies, crumbled with a fork
  • 1/2 can table cream (or heavy cream)
  • crushed peanuts, as needed

Directions

  1. 1

Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.

  2. 2

Add the condensed milk, crumbled paçocas, and cream, and stir to combine.

  3. 3

Keep stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the pan (the classic brigadeiro point).

  4. 4

Pour onto a buttered plate and let it cool completely.

  5. 5

Shape into small balls with lightly buttered hands, then roll them in the crushed peanuts.

💡 Chef's Tip

The mixture is ready when it pulls away from the bottom of the pan as you stir. No paçoca on hand? Blend roasted peanuts with a little sugar for a close substitute. Store the brigadeiros in the fridge for up to 5 days, but let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving so they turn creamy again.
