🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons sweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Directions

  1. 1

Melt the butter in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat until fully melted and just starting to foam.

  2. 2

Add the cocoa powder and whisk briskly to combine without lumps, then reduce the heat to low.

  3. 3

Pour in the condensed milk and salt, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon for 8–10 minutes until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  4. 4

Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes before serving in small bowls or ramekins.

💡 Chef's Tip

For deeper flavor, swap the sweetened cocoa for 100% Dutch-process cocoa and add an extra teaspoon of sugar. Serve warm alongside vanilla ice cream for an elevated twist.
