🛒 Ingredients

8 servings

8
  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 1½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted margarine
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and brown sugar until light and well combined.

  2. 2

Add the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and margarine. Stir until a thick, smooth batter forms.

  3. 3

Fold in the chopped walnuts gently so they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  4. 4

Line a round or square baking pan with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly inside.

  5. 5

Place in a cold oven (do not preheat) and bake at 350 °F (180 °C) for 30 minutes.

  6. 6

Remove from the oven, let it rest a few minutes, then serve warm for the best fudgy texture.

💡 Chef's Tip

Use high-quality raw cocoa powder for a deeper chocolate flavour. Swap the walnuts for pecans, hazelnuts, or dark chocolate chips if you prefer.
