🛒 Ingredients

2 servings

2
  • 2 slices of whole wheat sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 20 g sugar-free dulce de leche or caramel spread
  • Ground cinnamon, to taste
  • 1 level teaspoon skimmed milk powder (optional)

Directions

  1. 1

Using a rolling pin or a glass, flatten each bread slice until thin and pliable.

  2. 2

Spread the sugar-free dulce de leche evenly over the surface of each flattened slice.

  3. 3

Carefully roll each slice into a tight log, similar to a mini Swiss roll. Secure the end with a toothpick if needed to hold its shape.

  4. 4

Place the rolls in the air fryer basket and cook at 200 °C (390 °F) for 5 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning!

  5. 5

Remove from the air fryer and dust generously with ground cinnamon and skimmed milk powder.

  6. 6

Serve immediately while still warm and crispy!

💡 Chef's Tip

Try dipping your churros in plain Greek yogurt for extra creaminess. You can also swap the dulce de leche for light peanut butter for a fun flavour variation.
