🛒 Ingredients

8 servings

8
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) milk chocolate, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons brandy or rum
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 thick slice fresh pineapple, cubed
  • 3 bananas, sliced into rounds
  • 2 apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 small baguette, cut into bite-size cubes

Directions

  1. 1

Pour the heavy cream into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and warm over medium-low heat until it just begins to steam — do not boil.

  2. 2

Add the dark chocolate first, stirring continuously until fully melted, then incorporate the milk chocolate until the mixture is perfectly smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

Remove from heat and stir in the brandy or rum to deepen the flavor.

  4. 4

Transfer the fondue to a ceramic or stainless steel bowl set over a tea-light warmer to keep it fluid.

  5. 5

Arrange the fruits and bread cubes on a serving platter and invite guests to dip freely with long fondue forks.

💡 Chef's Tip

Toss apple and banana pieces in a little lemon juice to prevent browning. If the fondue becomes too thick, stir in a splash of warm cream to loosen it.
