🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of fine sea salt

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.

  2. 2

Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula, scraping the bottom of the pan to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, until the mixture thickens noticeably and starts to bubble gently.

  4. 4

Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

Transfer to a buttered dish and allow to cool completely before using as a filling, frosting, or shaping into truffles.

💡 Chef's Tip

For perfect truffles, refrigerate the cooled fudge for 1 hour, then roll into balls with buttered hands and coat in cocoa powder, chocolate sprinkles, or finely crushed nuts.
