🛒 Ingredients

8 servings

8
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 ml sunflower oil
  • 200 ml whole milk
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 200 g cooked fine semolina, cooled
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder (11 g)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Grated cheese for topping (optional)

Directions

  1. 1

Cook semolina according to package instructions. Drain and let cool completely. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F) and grease and flour a 22 cm round cake pan.

  2. 2

Add eggs, oil, and milk to the blender. Blend on high speed for 1 minute until foamy.

  3. 3

Add sugar, cooked semolina, flour, baking powder, and salt. Blend for 5 more minutes until the batter is smooth.

  4. 4

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with grated cheese if using.

  5. 5

Bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before unmolding.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra fragrance, add a tablespoon of orange blossom water or the zest of one lemon to the batter. Keeps well at room temperature under a cake dome for up to 3 days.
