🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 150 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1

Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat immediately before it reaches a full boil.

  2. 2

Add the finely chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit undisturbed for 2 minutes, then stir gently with a spatula until completely melted and glossy.

  3. 3

Add the diced butter and sifted powdered sugar. Stir vigorously until the butter is fully incorporated and the frosting is perfectly smooth.

  4. 4

Stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the frosting to cool at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a spreadable consistency.

  5. 5

Pour over your cooled cake and spread evenly with a spatula. Let it set for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

For an extra-glossy finish, add a tablespoon of corn syrup. If the frosting thickens too quickly, reheat gently over a double boiler. Top with fresh berries or chocolate shavings for an elegant presentation.
