🛒 Ingredients

6 servings

6
  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 3 garlic cloves (or 1 tbsp garlic paste)
  • ½ onion, grated
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Juice of ½ lemon (or 2 tbsp white vinegar)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 plate all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 plate breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. 1

Slice the chicken breast into thin, even strips about 1.5 cm wide.

  2. 2

In a bowl, combine garlic, grated onion, oregano, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add the chicken strips and toss to coat evenly.

  3. 3

Allow to marinate for 10–15 minutes so the flavors can soak in.

  4. 4

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

Coat each strip in flour first (shake off excess), dip in beaten egg, then press into breadcrumbs to coat well.

  6. 6

Heat plenty of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.

  7. 7

Fry the strips in small batches for 3–4 minutes until golden and cooked through.

  8. 8

Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra crunch, mix the breadcrumbs with a pinch of smoked paprika or grated Parmesan. Avoid crowding the pan to keep the oil temperature steady and ensure even browning.
