🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 14 oz (400 g) dulce de leche
  • 1¾ cups (400 ml) heavy whipping cream, very cold
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) chocolate wafer sticks (such as Bis or Kit-Kat fingers), roughly broken
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional, enhances the caramel flavor)

Directions

  1. 1

Place the dulce de leche in the bowl of a stand mixer or use a hand mixer. Beat on medium-high speed for 8–10 minutes until the mixture becomes noticeably lighter and fluffy.

  2. 2

With the mixer running on medium, gradually pour in the cold heavy cream and continue beating until the mousse is smooth, airy, and fully combined.

  3. 3

Spoon the mousse into individual serving glasses or a large dessert dish.

  4. 4

Break the chocolate wafers into bite-sized pieces and scatter them over the top just before serving to keep them crunchy.

  5. 5

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the mousse to set and the flavors to deepen.

💡 Chef's Tip

Use very cold heavy cream for a firmer, more airy mousse. Add the wafers right before serving so they stay crisp. You can swap them for crushed Oreos, digestive biscuits, or caramelized pecans for a fun twist.
