🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons sweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup (250 ml) whole milk

Directions

  1. 1

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the cocoa powder and sugar, stirring constantly for about 1 minute until you get a smooth, lump-free paste.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch into the cold milk until fully dissolved with no lumps.

  3. 3

Gradually pour the milk mixture into the saucepan while stirring continuously over medium-low heat. Keep stirring until the glaze begins to thicken to your desired consistency.

  4. 4

Remove from heat and use immediately while still warm, pouring from the center of the cake for a beautiful glossy finish.

💡 Chef's Tip

For a richer flavor, swap the sweetened cocoa for pure unsweetened cocoa and adjust the sugar to taste. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 2 days — gently reheat in a double boiler before using.
