🛒 Ingredients

6 servings

6
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk (250 ml)
  • 50 g chocolate sprinkles

Directions

  1. 1

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring to prevent burning.

  2. 2

Add the sweetened condensed milk and cocoa powder, whisking until fully smooth and combined.

  3. 3

Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and you can clearly see the bottom of the pan.

  4. 4

Pour in the milk and keep stirring until you reach a thick, pourable frosting consistency — not too runny, not too stiff.

  5. 5

Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Pour over your cake and finish with a generous scatter of chocolate sprinkles.

💡 Chef's Tip

For an extra glossy finish, stir in a small knob of butter off the heat. Stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container — gently reheat over a bain-marie before reusing.
