🛒 Ingredients

20 servings

20
  • 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk (approx. 7 oz / 200 g)
  • 3 cups whole powdered milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (confectioners' sugar), sifted
  • Food colouring of your choice

Directions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the sifted powdered sugar and powdered milk until evenly combined with no lumps.

  2. 2

Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, stirring after each addition, until a soft dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

  3. 3

Transfer the dough to a clean surface and begin kneading with your hands until smooth and uniform.

  4. 4

If the dough sticks to your hands, dust with a little extra powdered sugar and continue kneading until the texture is pliable and non-sticky.

  5. 5

Add your chosen food colouring and knead until the colour is fully and evenly distributed throughout.

  6. 6

On a surface lightly dusted with powdered sugar, roll the dough out with a rolling pin to the size of your cake.

  7. 7

Carefully drape the frosting over the cake, smooth the edges, decorate as desired and serve!

💡 Chef's Tip

Wrap any unused frosting tightly in plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out — it keeps at room temperature for up to 2 days. A fondant smoother gives a flawless finish on the sides of the cake.
