🛒 Ingredients

28 servings

28
  • 200 g (1¾ cups) full-fat powdered milk
  • 300 g (2½ cups) powdered sugar (confectioners' sugar), sifted
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk, added gradually
  • Food coloring gel (optional)
  • A few drops of vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

  1. 1

Sift the powdered milk and powdered sugar together into a large mixing bowl, whisking to combine evenly and remove any lumps.

  2. 2

Pour the sweetened condensed milk in slowly, a tablespoon at a time, stirring with a spatula between each addition. Stop when the mixture resembles a crumbly but cohesive dough — it should not feel sticky.

  3. 3

Lightly dust your work surface with powdered sugar and knead the dough by hand for 2–3 minutes until smooth and pliable enough to roll out with a rolling pin.

  4. 4

Divide the dough into portions if using multiple colors. Knead a drop of gel food coloring into each portion until the color is uniform throughout.

  5. 5

Shape into small balls, cut with cookie cutters, or press into molds. Allow to rest for 30 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

💡 Chef's Tip

If the dough sticks to your hands, dust with a little more powdered sugar. If it cracks and feels dry, add a few extra drops of condensed milk. Gel food coloring gives vibrant, consistent results compared to liquid dyes. This dough also works beautifully as a fondant-style cake covering.
