🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 3 cups full-fat powdered milk (measured with a standard 200 ml cup)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (icing sugar), sifted
  • 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) thick sweetened condensed milk
  • Powder food coloring (optional, for tinting)

Directions

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sifted powdered sugar and powdered milk. Stir the dry ingredients together until fully blended with no lumps.

  2. 2

Pierce a wide hole in the top of the condensed milk can. Gradually pour it into the dry mixture in a steady stream, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

  3. 3

Once the dough becomes too stiff to stir, knead it with your hands for 2–3 minutes until smooth, pliable, and non-sticky — it should feel like modeling clay.

  4. 4

To color the paste, divide it into portions and knead in powder food coloring until the shade is even throughout.

  5. 5

Use immediately or wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

💡 Chef's Tip

Always work the paste at room temperature for best results. If it sticks, dust lightly with powdered sugar; if it cracks, knead in a few extra drops of condensed milk. Using a thick condensed milk brand is key — a watery one will make the paste too soft to shape.
