🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • ½ cup (80 g) popcorn kernels, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
  • 1 small pinch of salt

Directions

  1. 1

Rinse the popcorn kernels under cold running water and drain thoroughly.

  2. 2

In a large microwave-safe glass bowl with a tight-fitting lid, combine the kernels, sugar, water, and salt. Stir well to coat all kernels evenly.

  3. 3

Cover tightly and microwave on full power for 7 minutes. Do not lift the lid during cooking.

  4. 4

Let rest for 1 minute, then carefully tilt the lid away from your face to release steam before fully opening. Serve immediately.

💡 Chef's Tip

Use a large glass container — the kernels need plenty of room to pop. A few unpopped kernels at the bottom is perfectly normal. For a spiced version, stir in ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon before microwaving.
