🛒 Ingredients

5 servings

5
  • ¾ cup (200 ml) heavy cream
  • 10 level tablespoons sweetened cocoa powder (such as Nesquik)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar

Directions

  1. 1

Combine the heavy cream, cocoa powder, butter and sugar in a small saucepan.

  2. 2

Heat over low heat, stirring continuously, until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves completely.

  3. 3

Remove from heat as soon as the sauce is smooth and just steaming — do not let it boil, to preserve its silky texture.

  4. 4

Serve warm over ice cream, cake or brownies, or enjoy by the spoonful for an instant treat.

💡 Chef's Tip

For a richer chocolate flavor, swap half the sweetened cocoa for unsweetened cocoa powder. Keeps refrigerated in a sealed jar for up to 3 days — gently reheat before serving.
