Banana Smoothie Without Milk

ML
By Marie Lefebvre · Updated October 14, 2026

A silky, plant-based smoothie made without a single drop of milk. The clever part: water blended with a little wheat flour turns surprisingly creamy, close to the texture of milk, while ripe bananas bring all the natural sweetness you need. Ready in 5 minutes, it's the perfect breakfast drink or comforting snack.

🛒 Ingredients

3 servings

3
  • 200 ml water
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour (about 60 g)
  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • Sugar to taste (1 to 2 tbsp)

Directions

  1. 1

Add the water and wheat flour to a blender and blend for a few seconds until smooth, close to the consistency of milk.

  2. 2

Peel the bananas, break them into pieces and add them to the blender.

  3. 3

Add sugar to taste, then blend again for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is perfectly smooth.

  4. 4

Serve immediately, well chilled, with a few ice cubes if you like.

💡 Chef's Tip

Use very ripe, speckled bananas — the riper they are, the sweeter and more fragrant the smoothie, so you can even cut back on the sugar. For an even richer version, swap the water for coconut water or add a pinch of cinnamon. Since there's no milk, this drink doesn't keep well: enjoy it within the hour for the creamiest texture.
