Szechuan Beef
A flavorful beef stir-fry with authentic spicy Szechuan flavors. Tender marinated and browned meat, accompanied by crisp fresh vegetables in a rich, aromatic sauce.

- 9 oz beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 pinch white pepper
- 1 egg white
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- 1 tsp garlic
- 5 oz onion
- 3.5 oz carrots
- 5 oz green bell pepper
- 7 oz celery
- 7 oz mushrooms
- 1 tbsp rice wine
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce

In a bowl, mix the beef cut into pieces with the salt, sesame oil, white pepper, egg white, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Let marinate for 15 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove the beef and set aside.

In the same wok, add the minced ginger and garlic, then the onions, carrots, and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add the celery and mushrooms, and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes.

Pour in the rice wine, water, oyster sauce, hot sauce, sugar, and soy sauce. Return the beef to the pan. Dissolve the remaining cornstarch in a little water and pour it in to thicken. Stir for 2 minutes until a smooth sauce is obtained.
💡 Chef's Tip
For best results, prepare all ingredients in advance. Use a wok or a very hot large skillet for a quick stir-fry and crisp vegetables. Adjust the spice level according to your preferences.
