🛒 Ingredients

7 servings

7
  • 500 ml heavy whipping cream (at least 30% fat), chilled
  • 250 g store-bought or homemade meringues
  • 400 g fresh strawberries
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1

Chill the mixing bowl and cream in the freezer for 15 minutes before whipping for best results.

  2. 2

Beat the cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, then gently fold in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

  3. 3

Wash, hull and quarter the strawberries, setting a few whole ones aside for decoration.

  4. 4

Roughly crush the meringues by hand into irregular pieces.

  5. 5

In serving glasses or a large dish, layer whipped cream, strawberries and crushed meringue. Repeat the layers, finishing with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

  6. 6

Decorate with whole strawberries and meringue shards. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra indulgence, drizzle strawberry coulis between the layers. Assemble just before serving if you prefer the meringues to stay extra crunchy.
