🛒 Ingredients

15 servings

15
  • 500 g roasted and skinless peanuts
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted margarine
  • 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. 1

Grease a rectangular baking dish generously with margarine and set aside.

  2. 2

Combine the peanuts, sugar, and margarine in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.

  3. 3

Stir constantly with a wooden spoon without stopping — this is key to prevent the sugar from burning unevenly.

  4. 4

Once the mixture has melted into a smooth, golden caramel, quickly pour in the condensed milk and stir vigorously until the mixture pulls away cleanly from the bottom of the pan.

  5. 5

Pour immediately into the prepared dish and spread into an even layer.

  6. 6

Score into small squares while still warm, then allow to cool completely before breaking apart and serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

Act fast once you add the condensed milk — the mixture sets quickly. Lightly salted peanuts add a wonderful sweet-salty contrast that takes these to the next level.
