- 1
Prepare the potatoes: wash, peel, and cut them into thin, even sticks.
- 2
Thoroughly dry the fries with paper towels for better crispiness.
- 3
Place the fries in the Air Fryer basket, add 1 tablespoon of oil, salt, and pepper. Cook at 374°F for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- 4
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 10 minutes before cooking so they reach room temperature.
- 5
Heat your grill or grill pan over high heat. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
- 6
Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper. Place them on the very hot grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes without moving to get a beautiful golden crust.
- 7
Flip the steaks and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (adjust to your liking).
- 8
Remove the steaks from the grill, place a pat of butter and a sprig of thyme on each. Let rest for 2-3 minutes.
- 9
Prepare the salad: wash the lettuce, dice the tomato, slice the cucumber into half-moons, and thinly slice the onion.
- 10
Assemble the plates: toss the salad with a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar.
- 11
Arrange the steak in the center, crispy fries on one side, and fresh salad on the other.
💡 Chef's Tip
For a perfect crust, make sure your grill is very hot and never pierce the meat with a fork during cooking — use tongs instead. Well-rested meat after cooking retains its juices and stays more tender. Prepare the fries last so they are still crispy when served.
