Directions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350 °F / 180 °C. Grease a medium baking dish with butter.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon and baking powder. Add the cold butter and rub it into the dry mixture with your fingertips until it resembles coarse, sandy crumbs — this is the farofa.
- 3
In a separate bowl, beat together the heavy cream and dulce de leche until fully combined into a smooth, creamy filling.
- 4
Spread half of the crumble evenly over the bottom of the greased dish. Arrange the banana slices on top and dust them with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- 5
Pour the dulce de leche cream over the bananas, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- 6
Cover with the remaining crumble and bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
💡 Chef's Tip
Use very ripe bananas for a sweeter, softer result. For an extra-crispy topping, switch to the broiler for the last 2–3 minutes of baking.
