10
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cups cooked shredded chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 bag of crispy potato sticks
  • 200 ml heavy cream

Directions

  1. 1

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté the onion until soft and lightly golden.

  2. 2

Add the shredded chicken and cook for a few minutes, stirring well to combine all the flavors.

  3. 3

Whisk the flour into the cold milk until smooth, then pour into the pan, stirring constantly to keep the sauce lump-free.

  4. 4

Stir in the heavy cream and chopped parsley, season generously with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

Simmer over low heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce is thick, smooth, and creamy.

  6. 6

Pour into a greased baking dish, sprinkle evenly with parmesan and bake at 200 °C (390 °F) for about 15 minutes until the top is golden.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven, scatter crispy potato sticks on top and serve immediately.

💡 Chef's Tip

A pinch of nutmeg in the cream sauce adds lovely warmth. Always add the potato sticks right before serving to keep them perfectly crunchy.
