🛒 Ingredients

3 servings

3
  • 3 chicken breast fillets
  • 1 apple (Golden or Fuji variety)
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Hot or smoked paprika, to taste
  • Ground cumin
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Lightly flatten the chicken fillets with a rolling pin or the heel of your hand to ensure even thickness and faster cooking.

  2. 2

Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the fillets, season with salt, paprika and cumin, then scatter the minced garlic on top.

  3. 3

Cook until golden on the first side, about 3–4 minutes. Flip the fillets, pour in the water and add the peeled, cored apple cut into thin matchsticks.

  4. 4

Cover the pan and cook over low heat until the water has fully evaporated.

  5. 5

Uncover and continue cooking, turning occasionally, until everything is nicely golden and lightly caramelized.

💡 Chef's Tip

A tart Granny Smith apple balances the spices perfectly, while a Golden adds natural sweetness. Serve alongside steamed basmati rice or a crisp green salad.
