🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken fillets
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1/2 onion, sliced into rings
  • 1/2 cup water (120 ml)
  • Salt, pepper and spices to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Place the chicken fillets between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound them with a meat mallet or the bottom of a pan to even the thickness and tenderize the meat.

  2. 2

Season both sides generously with salt, pepper and your favorite spices, pressing them firmly into the surface of the meat.

  3. 3

In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add the crushed garlic and grated onion with 2 tablespoons of water. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.

  4. 4

Place the chicken fillets in the pan. Turn them regularly, adding a small splash of water whenever it evaporates, until the chicken is fully cooked through with no pink juices running.

  5. 5

Once the chicken is cooked through, allow all the water to evaporate completely. Keep turning the fillets with a fork to coat them in the caramelized pan juices until deeply golden on both sides.

  6. 6

Add the onion rings to the pan and let them soften for a few minutes over gentle heat. Serve the fillets topped with the wilted onions and the fragrant pan drippings.

💡 Chef's Tip

For an even deeper golden crust, increase the heat for the last minute of cooking while watching carefully to avoid burning the pan drippings. Experiment with spices like smoked paprika, cumin, or Cajun seasoning to change the flavor profile.
