🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 500 g chicken breast tenders or thin fillets
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • dried oregano and salt to taste
  • 200 g sliced cooked ham
  • 200 g sliced mozzarella
  • 400 g tomato sauce
  • 200 ml light cream
  • 2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced into rings
  • olive oil

Directions

  1. 1

Season the chicken fillets with salt, mustard, minced garlic, and oregano. Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.

  2. 2

Lightly oil a baking dish. Arrange the potato slices in an even layer, top with the onion rings, then place the marinated chicken fillets on top.

  3. 3

Cover tightly with aluminium foil and bake at 200 °C (390 °F) for 20 minutes.

  4. 4

Remove the foil. Pour the tomato sauce over the chicken, drizzle the cream on top, then layer with ham slices and mozzarella.

  5. 5

Return to the oven uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbling. Serve hot with white rice or a fresh green salad.

💡 Chef's Tip

Add a pinch of smoked paprika to the marinade for subtle smoky depth. Leftovers reheat beautifully in the oven the next day — the flavours only improve.
