🛒 Ingredients

8 servings

8
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 1 can light cream (7 fl oz / 200 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons sweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) chocolate sprinkles

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 °F (180 °C). In a blender, combine the condensed milk, cream, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, and butter. Blend for 2–3 minutes until completely smooth and lump-free.

  2. 2

Generously butter a flan mold and carefully pour in the chocolate mixture.

  3. 3

Cover the mold tightly with aluminum foil. Set it inside a deep baking dish and pour hot water around it until it reaches halfway up the mold (water bath / bain-marie).

  4. 4

Bake for approximately 1 hour, until the flan is set and barely jiggles when gently shaken.

  5. 5

Remove from the oven, uncover, and let cool slightly at room temperature before refrigerating for 30 minutes.

  6. 6

Carefully unmold onto a serving plate, cover with chocolate sprinkles, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving chilled.

💡 Chef's Tip

For a less sweet flan, swap the granulated sugar for raw/coarse sugar in the same amount. Always seal the aluminum foil tightly to prevent water from seeping into the mold during baking — this is the key to a perfect texture.
