🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 ml whole milk
  • 250 ml water
  • 10 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 8 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar for the caramel

Directions

  1. 1

Add the eggs, whole milk, water, powdered milk, and sugar to a blender in the listed order. Blend for 1–2 minutes until fully smooth and combined.

  2. 2

Make the caramel: pour the 3 tablespoons of sugar into the flan mold and heat over medium flame without stirring until it turns a deep amber color.

  3. 3

Tilt the mold to coat the bottom and sides evenly with the hot caramel. Allow it to harden for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

Carefully pour the blended milk mixture over the set caramel, keeping the mold steady.

  5. 5

Place the mold directly into the air fryer basket — no foil or water bath needed.

  6. 6

Air fry at 200 °C (390 °F) for approximately 20 minutes, until the top is golden and slightly gratinéed.

  7. 7

Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center — it should come out completely clean.

  8. 8

Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before unmolding.

  9. 9

Invert onto a deep serving plate so the caramel flows over the flan and serve chilled.

💡 Chef's Tip

Cooking time varies by air fryer model — peek at the flan halfway through and adjust as needed. Do not stir the sugar while making the caramel or it will crystallize. Chilling overnight gives an even creamier texture.
