🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 10 tablespoons milk powder
  • 8 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup (250 ml) whole milk
  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar for the caramel

Directions

  1. 1

Make the caramel: place 2 tablespoons of sugar in a flan mold over medium heat. Let it melt without stirring until it turns a deep golden amber, then tilt the mold to coat the bottom and sides evenly. Set aside to cool.

  2. 2

Add the milk powder, remaining sugar, eggs, milk and water to a blender. Blend for 1–2 minutes until completely smooth and lump-free.

  3. 3

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Pour the blended mixture into the caramel-lined mold. Set the mold inside a larger roasting pan filled with hot water and bake for 50 minutes, until the edges are set.

  4. 4

Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Run a knife around the edges and carefully invert onto a deep serving plate to unmold.

💡 Chef's Tip

A slight jiggle in the center when you pull it from the oven is perfectly fine — the flan sets fully as it chills. For a deeper caramel flavor, let the sugar turn a rich amber before stopping the heat.
