🛒 Ingredients

20 servings

20
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (about 400 g)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (about 360 g)
  • 1½ cups whole milk (375 ml)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Grease and flour a medium bundt pan.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, beat the sugar, softened butter and eggs together until pale, creamy and smooth.

  3. 3

Gradually mix in the flour, milk and baking powder, alternating between dry and wet ingredients. Stir until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.

  4. 4

Pour two-thirds of the batter into the prepared bundt pan and spread evenly.

  5. 5

Stir the cocoa powder into the remaining batter until fully combined and deeply chocolatey.

  6. 6

Spoon the chocolate batter over the plain batter in the pan.

  7. 7

Use a fork or skewer to gently swirl the two batters together in a figure-eight motion. Be careful not to over-mix — you want distinct swirls.

  8. 8

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before unmolding.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra richness, substitute the cocoa powder with 2 oz of melted dark chocolate. A teaspoon of vanilla extract in the plain batter adds wonderful depth.
