🛒 Ingredients

12 servings

12
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395 g)
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Grease and flour a cake pan.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and sugar. Add the baking powder and mix to combine.

  3. 3

Add the oil and eggs to the dry ingredients. Gradually pour in the hot milk and stir until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.

  4. 4

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

While the cake bakes, prepare the glaze: combine the condensed milk and cocoa in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides.

  6. 6

Remove the cake from the oven and immediately pour the warm glaze over it so it soaks right in.

  7. 7

Finish with shredded coconut if desired. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

Whole milk gives the crumb extra moisture. Serve warm for the glossiest, gooiest glaze experience.
