🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable oil (sunflower or canola)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 3 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A handful of raisins (optional)
  • Sugar and cinnamon to dust the pan

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 325 °F (160 °C). Grease a bundt pan and dust it generously with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

  2. 2

Blend the sugar, eggs, and oil in a blender until smooth and slightly frothy.

  3. 3

Pour the mixture into a large bowl, add the sifted flour, and stir until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.

  4. 4

Fold in the ground cinnamon, raisins, baking powder, and diced apples using a spatula.

  5. 5

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at low heat for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

  6. 6

Test for doneness by inserting a knife or skewer into the center — it should come out completely clean.

  7. 7

Allow to cool for 15 minutes before unmolding. Serve warm or at room temperature.

💡 Chef's Tip

Tart apples like Granny Smith offer the best balance of sweetness and acidity. The cake keeps well for up to 3 days stored under a cake dome at room temperature.
