🛒 Ingredients

20 servings

20
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup (250 ml) whole milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter, melted

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (24 cm) round cake pan.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture turns pale, creamy, and fluffy.

  3. 3

Gradually sift in the flour, folding gently and continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

  4. 4

Pour in the warm milk, add the pinch of salt and melted butter, then beat until you get a smooth, even batter.

  5. 5

Gently fold in the baking powder with a spatula using circular motions, being careful not to deflate the batter.

  6. 6

Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

Cool for 10 minutes before unmolding. Serve plain or dusted with powdered sugar.

💡 Chef's Tip

Room-temperature eggs and milk make the batter fluffier. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or lemon zest for extra fragrance.
