🛒 Ingredients

10 servings

10
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 2 fresh tomatoes, sliced
  • 200 ml (¾ cup) heavy cream
  • 1 can (285 g) corn kernels, drained
  • 300 g (10 oz) shredded mozzarella
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, pepper, and dried herbs to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until softened and translucent, about 3 minutes.

  2. 2

Add the ground beef and cook over high heat, breaking it apart continuously, until browned and all liquid has evaporated. Season generously with salt, pepper, and your choice of dried herbs.

  3. 3

Transfer the seasoned meat to a greased baking dish, spreading it out in an even layer.

  4. 4

Blend the heavy cream with the drained corn kernels until smooth and creamy.

  5. 5

Pour the corn cream evenly over the meat layer, then arrange the tomato slices on top.

  6. 6

Cover generously with shredded mozzarella and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

💡 Chef's Tip

Let the gratin rest for 5 minutes before serving so the layers hold together when sliced. Serve alongside a crisp green salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
