- 1
Wash the apricots and both types of raisins. Place them in a bowl and cover with cold water, about 2 inches above the fruits. Let soak.
- 2
In another bowl or saucepan, pour boiling water over the walnuts, pistachios, and almonds. Let soak until the skins soften. Gently remove the skins (a meticulous but important step). Discard the water and keep the peeled nuts.
- 3
Pour the apricots and raisins with their soaking liquid into a large bowl. Add the peeled nuts and dried cherries. Gently pour in a dash of rose water and mix well.
- 4
Cover the mixture with a lid or plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 days. The juice will gradually become sweeter and more syrupy.
- 5
Pour the Haft Mewa into individual bowls or cups, distributing the fruits, nuts, and juice. Enjoy this unique preparation!
💡 Chef's Tip
For optimal results, use high-quality fruits and nuts. Rose water is essential for authenticity – do not substitute it with another flavoring. The longer you let it rest, the sweeter and more syrupy the juice becomes, amplifying the flavors.
