Homemade Sushi Rolls
Fresh and flavorful sushi rolls, easily prepared with the family using fragrant rice, crunchy vegetables, and a touch of Japanese mayonnaise. Perfect for an original and delicious meal.

- 1 1/4 cups sushi rice
- scant 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 cucumber
- Nori sheets as needed

Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions. Mix with the rice vinegar and granulated sugar.

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat, shiny side down.

Moisten your hands with vinegared water, then spread a thin layer of rice over the nori (about 0.4 inches), leaving the top edge free.

Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise in the center of the rice.

Arrange the fillings (tuna and sliced cucumber) in a line over the mayonnaise.

Lift the edge of the mat and roll the sushi tightly, applying light pressure.

Moisten the free edge with a little water and finish rolling to seal.

Cut the rolls into equal portions with a moistened knife.
💡 Chef's Tip
Regularly moisten your hands and your knife to prevent the rice from sticking. You can pre-cook the rice the day before to save time. To vary the flavors, try different fillings: avocado, egg, smoked fish, etc.
