🛒 Ingredients

1 servings

1
  • 1 boneless chicken breast
  • 2 lemons (juice)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 cup fine breadcrumbs
  • ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Vegetable oil, for deep frying

Directions

  1. 1

Slice the chicken breast into strips about ½ inch wide. Season with lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat and marinate for 20 minutes in the fridge.

  2. 2

Whisk together the egg, milk, and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl until smooth.

  3. 3

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, and cornstarch. Mix well.

  4. 4

Remove chicken strips from the marinade. Dip each strip into the egg wash, then dredge in the flour mixture, pressing gently so the coating sticks.

  5. 5

Heat oil in a deep pan to 340 °F (170 °C). Fry the strips in small batches for 4–5 minutes, turning halfway through, until deep golden and cooked through.

  6. 6

Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with your favourite dipping sauce.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra crunch, double-coat the strips by dipping them twice in the egg wash and twice in the flour mix. A spoonful of grated Parmesan stirred into the breadcrumbs adds a wonderful savoury depth.
