🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 6 lasagna sheets
  • 300 g (10 oz) sliced mozzarella
  • 300 g (10 oz) chicken ham or turkey ham
  • 1 jar ready-made bolognese sauce
  • 200 ml (¾ cup) light cream
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • Fresh parsley and cilantro
  • ½ bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Dried oregano, to taste
  • Grated cheese (parmesan or cheddar), to taste
  • Salt and olive oil

Directions

  1. 1

Blend the onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, bell pepper, and stock cube into a smooth paste. Mix thoroughly into the ground beef.

  2. 2

Stir in the tomato paste and cook over medium heat for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until almost all the liquid has evaporated.

  3. 3

Cook the lasagna sheets in a large pot of salted boiling water with a splash of oil until al dente. Drain and set aside in cold water.

  4. 4

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Spread a layer of bolognese sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.

  5. 5

Add 3 lasagna sheets, then layer with ground beef, chicken ham, mozzarella, and another spoonful of bolognese sauce.

  6. 6

Repeat the layers: pasta, beef, ham, mozzarella, sauce. Finish with a drizzle of cream, a generous handful of grated cheese, and a sprinkle of oregano.

  7. 7

Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

Make the meat sauce a day ahead for deeper, richer flavor. Swap chicken ham for sliced pepperoni or cooked Italian sausage for a bolder taste.
