🛒 Ingredients

8 servings

8
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

  2. 2

Sift the flour three times together with the baking powder to fully aerate the mixture.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, beat the sugar and melted butter together until smooth and creamy.

  4. 4

Add the egg and beat for one more minute until well combined.

  5. 5

Gradually fold in the milk and sifted flour, alternating between the two and mixing gently after each addition.

  6. 6

Fill the liners halfway and bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

💡 Chef's Tip

Avoid overmixing once the flour is added — a few lumps in the batter are perfectly fine and will keep your muffins light and airy.
